Submit Your Documentation
Every product record on this site lists the documents we hold and the questions still open. If you make or sell one of these products and hold the answer, send it. A complete submission gets the record updated and the date of the change printed on the page. This is a one-person operation, so we are not going to promise a reply time we cannot keep.
What moves a record
The four evidence marks on the sealant and accessory pages and the scored lines on the kit pages are earned by specific documents. These are the ones that count, in the order they matter:
- A technical data sheet with a date or revision number, covering the exact can size and model sold. A sheet for the gun can does not cover the straw can.
- The surface-burning test report behind any fire claim: the standard (ASTM E84 or UL 723), the laboratory, the report or file number, the tested thickness and configuration, and both indices.
- The thermal test behind any R-value: the method (ASTM C518, C177, C1363 or C1114), the thickness, and whether the value is aged. A conductivity figure from another method is recorded as what it is.
- An EPA registration number for any pesticide claim, or an establishment number and a plain statement that the product is a device, for a mechanical claim.
- A safety data sheet in current format.
- A code evaluation report (ICC-ES or equivalent) where an assembly use is claimed.
- Marketplace identity: which ASINs and item numbers are yours, which sellers are authorized, and the pack size behind each listing.
What happens to it
We read it against the record, update the facts, documents and open questions on the affected pages, and print the read date. Where a submission includes a way to reply, we write back to say what changed. If a document contradicts something we published, the correction note says so. If a document answers an open question, the question closes. If a document raises a new one, it is added.
What it cannot do
A submission can
- Earn a mark or points that the documents support
- Close an open question
- Correct a reading error of ours, with a dated note
- Add a product we missed to the intake
A submission cannot
- Buy a position, a score or a softer sentence
- Remove a finding that the documents still support
- Replace a document with a statement that one exists
- Be treated as confidential once we cite it; tell us what may not be quoted before you send it
The channel
Submissions are taken by email. The mailbox is not open yet. It is being set up as this page goes live on September 8, 2026, and the address will appear here the day it is working. Until then there is no way to reach us, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Prepare the submission against the list above so it is ready to send the moment the address appears. We do not use web forms, and we do not accept documents through marketplace messaging.
Public documents already on your own store or site do not need to be sent; a link to the exact file is enough, and it is what we prefer to cite.
